Petra Thölken knew as a child that she wanted to become an artist, taking her inspiration mostly took from nature. Later, she worked as a freelance designer, creating individual furniture and entire room concepts. She set up her studio in an old factory in Hanover, Germany. In 2004 she opened a painting school and in 2015 set up her internationally popular YouTube channel under the name Künstlerstreich, which has over 80,000 subscribers. Her work is exhibited internationally and is part of public and private collections.
